Three. Days. We have owned our new 2022 GX for 3 days. Today, on the way home, while sitting in a turn lane waiting for the green arrow, a passing truck kicked up a rock. The thud was sickening, because I knew right away the side body had been hit. Small ding and two paint scratches where the rock impacted. It must be fixed. Thinking I will just use the dealership body shop hoping they will respect the vehicle. I do not want dirty hands or clothes staining the interior. Sigh. Time for another beer.
That sucks... but honestly I wouldn't even bother getting any paint work done aside from some touch-up paint. Dark, metallic reds are almost impossible to match correctly. Found out the hard way.

Take it to a PDR shop first. Those folks can do amazing work. They’ll also be able to help fix the paint as much as it can be. Sorry this happened to you.

Personally, I would try to get a dent pro to pull that dent out and then buy some factory touch up paint. a body shop is just going to sand down the whole area and selectively paint that spot and then shoot on more clear coat.

I agree with this advice. Get the dent out by those guys that handle a thousand cars from hail damage. They'll flatten out that spot in no time, getting the high spots/crowning back down as well.
As for the scratches, if you go to a body shop, they have to sand down the clear coat and a little past that before they can get to work. Then they'll have to sand down a much bigger area to blend it in so that the paint is seamless. At this point, you're risking ruining more to fix a little. Honestly, after getting the dent fixed, I would either touch it up or leave it. Unfortunately, there will be more of that coming especially if you're on the highway a lot. I washed my wife's car, and she drives to downtown Dallas almost every day, and her car has pockmarks EVERYWHERE. No amount of ceramic, wax, whatever will save us. I don't think a full body wrap would even do anything. Only clear film bra or whatever they're call can help mitigate SOME of the debris that fly up.
Based on solid advice here, I will cancel the body appointment, and I have contacted a dent repair place. They should it shouldn’t be a problem to fix, around $150. Thx guys.
Yea I would just get the dent fixed and put a few drop of touch up paint. It will be noticeable unfortunately, but its better than having a big patch of mismatched color. These things are common and it hurts a lot more when the car is new.
