No of course not. If you do it all the time then sure you'll wear the engine out faster.

It’s not an issue at all unless your engine is cold- then you could be causing additional wear due to the oil not being optimal. However, we’re at an advantage with 0-20W which should lead to a long lasting, low wear engine.

0w-20 is very good at startup and during warmup because of its low viscosity at cold temps. The cold weather properties give you better protection than thicker oil.

one thing that has been etched into my head after reading it in the manual is, do not race a engine cold.

thanks for the clarification gents😎

Occasionally running the engine at WOT is actually good for the engine. Helps burn off a lot of crud from low speed driving and you wouldnt want the engine to be used to small to mid throttle driving only.

Good 'ol italian tune up. I pretty much WOT on most on ramps. The GX is definitely not the fastest and the transmission is slow to shift unless you put your foot down or put it in sport mode.

I agree. I think it’s good for the engine to step on it occasionally.

I think the best advice is to make sure the oil is fully up to temp. This is particularly important for forced induction engines.

Just make sure the engine is cold and a couple quarts low on oil. Lock it into 1st and keep it floored till the knocking gets loud!

Upwards of 90% of engine wear comes from
cold starts.

I don't think he was necessarily disagreeing but as much as pointing out WOT is the least of anyone's worries as long as you don't do it 24/7
