Almost the same picture. Mine is the 13 with the larger tires and a 1.5 lift front and rear. Need to lower the front a half inch but have not got around to it.
+1. I still haven't seen compelling evidence over how a slight diff in wheel diameter will 'bind up and destroy your diff'. If our wheels are already rotating at different speeds over loose surfaces and around corners, then how would that be any different to a short drive on pavement at low speed with slightly uneven wheels?

I swapped out my spare for a bigger tire; 265/65/18. Ends up being 1/2” smaller than the tires on the truck (275/65/18). It was a tight fit, had to use a mallet to force it in place. Once in, it’s secure in place and doesn’t rub against sway bar. Not looking forward to getting it out when I need it though. Will likely have to deflate it first.
Finally got the kdss spacers in to clear my 285/70R17 spare.
i did have to deflate and I used a strap to help pull the tire back a little. It can be raised and lowered with basically zero assistance and you can see there is a lot of clearance.
the reason it took so long was because Toyota seems to suck at fasteners and one of my kdss side bolts was so seized i ended up snapping it off. My 460 has minimal rust but almost every bolt i have removed while working on this thing has been a major pain. I just coat everything in antiseize compound now.
Anyone who runs 275/65/18 - any issues with ride quality or balancing? This is ideally the size I want to run, but this is both our daily and overland rig. I like the look of 275s on stock wheels much more than 265s.

I'm currently 4.5k miles into a cross country road trip so have had a lot of time to get a good feel of my new setup. The tires are performing well, and don't seem to be much noisy over stock highway setup so far. Also has similar feel on the road. My MPG has decreased, I'm averaging 17mpg, however that isn't adjusting for the increasing in tire size.

Look at Page 1 of this thread, I have listed off not only descriptions but also photos of a number of members who have 275/65/18's myself included. best tire size for a stock rig in my opinion, ride if anything became better with the larger tires and balancing was no issue.

Thanks for putting this together - I agree that it's the best size. I came from the TJ Jeep scene where going up even 2 inches is a huge difference in terms of the engine lagging and gearing being an issue, so I'm always paranoid in changing tire size. Seems like the GX platform is good to go with these.

For you or anyone else who might know - DiscountTire gives me a few options for the Open Country AT3s at this size.
I'm given the option of two load Index/Speed ratings: 113T and 116T.
The Load range for 113T is C1 and for 116T it's SL.
I'm a bit out of my element here. I use this for overlanding, so I have an RTT, awning, and a bunch of gear. Do I go with 113 or 116?
I went with BFG AT KO2 in 275/65/R18 and surprisingly - zero rub! I bought the hardware and zip ties to do the bolt and fender mods, but I have zero rub even at full lock. Anyone else have this experience? I will say for all of you looking at this tire size - the pictures do not do it justice at all. The tires are much bigger in real life and make it look semi-lifted.

Yes and no. At first, no but if I hit a bump and turn, it rubbed. I lifted a tad, wish I had gone w a 1” spacer as it is too high right now. Will fix that sooner or later. Love the tires though.
