Default Using Lexus App as an Engine Kill Switch?

I read in one of the thread that the GX is one of the most stolen Lexus. I'm wondering if you guys have ever used the Lexus App and use Guest mode and toggle every option to off and off limits and see if it actually works?

Interesting question. Is this a way to keep someone from starting the engine? I know that LoJack can remotely kill the engine. Are thieves hot wiring the car, using some electronic device or pulling it onto a flatbed tow truck?

More of a problem in Canada and it is an electronic device used to extend the FOB range when it is somewhat close by.

While we are on kill switch subject. Which fuse/relay should be pulled to disable starting without throwing codes? Asking for a friend. 😆

I remember a thread about wrapping your key fob in aluminum foil to prevent this type of electronic theft. It's only likely to happen if your car is parked outside your home/business, near enough for the key fob signal to reach the car from inside your building. Pretty long odds for that to happen.

I tried the Lexus app option and enable Guest 4 with Ignition On to off and It doesn't do anything. I could still drive normally, even having set the MPH to 5mph. I didn't get any notifications at all. Well...that's that.

The GX is on the very early gen hardware of connected vehicle. We wont see anything crazy from Lexus until the model change
