Yeah, I just had to drill from the front at an angle. It was tricky, but much quicker than removing the bumper.

Big update for the big girl! My Ironman4x4 Nitro Gas kit finally came in, and I finally had time to install it. Takeaways:
  • I watched
thinking it would be the perfect guide - it's my exact car after all! But I'm not sure why, but I had to unbolt the KDSS bars to get enough clearance to get the front shocks out - not something they did in the video.
  • It's a backbreaking job to do alone - not including set up/clean up and two runs to the parts store, it took about 8 hours of actual wrenching time, and I'm still sore three days later!
  • I still need to get it aligned, but based on what I saw when I was in there, my ball joints are loose so I'm going to have the alignment shop throw those on at the same time as the alignment. Just waiting on those to come in.
  • The ride is pretty similar to OEM, just a touch more firmer but much less floaty. Nose dive under braking is much reduced.
  • I'm going to put a few more miles on it and let it settle before I take my final measurements to see how much lift I actually got.

^^^ Please keep us posted on the alignment results. I noticed that you did not buy UCAs. I have that kit on order as well and have been contemplating aftermarket UCAs.

i keep reading that 2.5” or more should have upgraded UCAs. I’m looking to do a lift sometime in the future. Not that anyone asked, but I’m looking at the Ironman FCP or the new dobinsons MRA. COMPLETELY Different lifts but

Recommend JBA control arms if you need them to get aligned... they're ball joint so pretty much maintenance free (unlike uniball style) and easy to swap out the ball joint if ever needed 10 years down the line.

These are the exact ones I plan on ordering. Glad to hear they are good to go.

I have read the same on various forums. That is why I was asking dwh13 about his alignment results....

Excellent build. I ordered the LEDs you suggested.

I've been out of the loop. Our 2016 would benefit form a forward facing camera so its exciting that one is available that would wire in so easily!

Will do! Hopefully I get to take it by on Tuesday. I went out and measured the change today and I'm sitting exactly 2" higher at each corner, so I'm crossing my fingers that I can get by without UCAs. It's wild to me that two UCAs cost about as much as the entire lift kit did!

Speaking of the forward camera, I just ran into a super annoying issue with the BeatSonic - anytime the battery dies or is disconnected, you have to access the wiring again and play around with it to "re-trick" the head unit into thinking there are two cameras. So since I had to pull the battery during my lift install, neither of my cameras work until I have time to pull my dash apart again.

Totally agree! That is why I am choosing a ~2" lift, was also hoping to NOT need new UCAs

Just picked it up from the alignment shop - no UCAs needed! Here is their printout:

FYI for anyone else going down this route, today was my first real drive after the alignment, and now I had a hefty rub at lock. The DS tire was catching on this plastic plate in the wheel well. Not sure what it does, but I just removed it and no more rub!

Were you able to get your 5th wheel under the car? How about some daytime pics!
