Car buying service just means you use one of the dealrs they have a relationship with. You can still negotiate the same deal. I just found out the dealers in their program and then negotiated with the internet departments. First get a loan approved then call in and place it on hold until you have a vehicle and price you have agreed on.

Great info. I've often wondered how PenFed's service worked. Do you feel the dealer engaged in less shenanigans since you were coming from PenFed?

Internet departments engage in less shenanigans, but still expect the supposed "finance department" to try to upsell you on all the crap they try to push (extended warranties, paint protectors, window tints, gap insurance, basically way over priced BS). My process was to lock in a good deal with the internet department completely broken out. Then when I got to the finance department, I'd basically preempt him with "I'm not purchasing anything additional, so don't waste your time". He'd still try a bit, but not as thoroughly.

Yeah, because the wife wanted the captain seats unfortunately that option seems to always be grouped in with the sport package so that had to come with it. Getting the whole vehicle ceramic coated/ceramic tint/100% chrome delete/wheels powder coated right now, will post a pic when it's all finished.

In TX, it's not uncommon at all to find dealer inventory units with captains chairs, but without the sport package. The 2nd row bench is still the most common configuration you'll find in inventory though.

I assume if you preorder one and specify it to your personal liking then you're going to have little wiggle room when it comes to negotiating.

Default Price for 2020 GX 460?

Thinking about buying new 2020. Anyone know how much could possibly negotiate down from the MSRP? Obviously I’m thinking not too nibble because they are brand new, but definitely something.

No one here has mentioned wanting to buy the 2020 any time soon so you are the first. If you look into this please let us know what you find.
Thanks.

Dont pay more than MSRP-7.5%. The gx is perhaps the most bloated price in terms of profit margin of any vehicle... I'd guess they're making 25% on the 2020 MY GX considering very little engineering went in to it and the manufacturing costs are constant with an established supply chain... heck now I think MSRP-10% is reasonable...

So it’s reasonable to ask for 10% off the MSRP ?

I went to see a 2020 in person over the weekend, and here are my observations:
- New look is great
- Safety System+ great to see it standard
- Updated shift handle, rear view mirror.
- They REMOVED power folding mirrors from the PREMIUM
- No other changes at ALL, same Nav as I have in my 2015 Sienna (Not even rotating yellow lines on the backup camera)

I was very disappointed they are REMOVING things instead of adding. I believe at this point, I will have to pass on the GX.
