I've been in the market for pre-owned GX market for a month or so and the majority of them that I am seeing have Ecru interiors. End rant.

Yup..exactly my thoughts...the majority is Ecru interior. Unfortunately black interiors or even sepia is very rare in the market

If white exterior on black interior pops in the market, it is gone within one day...at least that's what I have noticed.

Beautiful luxury look but the seats do not hold up with this color. Besides the seat issue, I am quite fond of this color.

How about 18+ years of Black, White, Gray (Shades) and Silver cars representing 90++ percent of what's on the road ... boring as all Hell ... how about some "color" for a change ?#?#?#? End Rant.

Wife had a GX470 in Desert Sage ... always got compliments that it was not Black, White, Gray or Silver.

It doesn’t help vehicle search but here is a grid of ext/int color combos over the years

I didn't care for it at first and now, almost two years with it, I just don't care. You get used to it and it's been pretty resilient against our two older kids and our dogs. Clean weekly and treat the leather occasionally...

Some "color" there, but dealership lots (and on the road) it's 90++ percent Black, White, Gray and Silver ...

Unfortunately for me, SoCal. I have seen at least a handful of black/sepia interiors up in the NorCal areas. I am trying to avoid the extra cost of flying up there and the time to drive one back down.... its just frustrating when over and over you see a car that checks many boxes but also checks the one box thats a deal breaker (Ecru interior). I guess at the end of the day, I wouldn't mind it as I've owned one before (which is how I know I don't really want one again), but the price has to be right. At this time I haven't given up yet, so the quest continues.

The newer 4runners have been coming out with some nice colors. The 2019 GXs have Claret and Nightfall Mica. I actually don't mind Claret Mica at all. I think it looks really good with the black interior. But the one Claret that I saw also had Ecru interior.

LOL I went through that. I really wanted black and settled for Sepia it still has tan headliner and pillars. Really a pain in the ***.

To the OP, I think your best bet is to get on a cheap southwest flight up to NorCal. You can take the 5 back down and be home in no time while getting to know your new-to-you GX.

I bought a white on black. It works for us up here, since it never gets too hot. I've owned ecru/light interiors before and did not want that this time around.

I totally agree with the getting to know the GX drive part. I am beginning to open up some more to this idea. Will have to see how much negotiating I can do over the phone.
