If they are already tearing into it isn't much more work to pull down the valve body if needed and replace the solenoids. I don't think solenoids cost that much overall. I've never looked up pricing on them. Not sure what the book time on a job like this is though. Shops usually charge on an estimate of time regardless if it took shorter or longer time than book states it should. I would imagine this is a $800-$1500 job. I could be totally off though.
When he looked it up he said that the book stated 3-3.5 hours I think.

Guys i need help,
since the confinement I have not driven my car very much . Here is the problem explained:
when i come to drive and shift to D , N or R it feels “ buttery” like very smoth to smoth. when i bring the shifter **** to D position I realized the red light did not come up beside it to say it is on D position. Then i drove a little and the dash lights up with the four light flashing.( hlow check engine ,...)
Now the transmission feels the same as usual no issues at all i know my car very well.
30 min into driving and stopping everything dissapeared and shifting is back to normal when moving to D position the light beside the D is red again. Any help would be very usefull.
Unfortunately ..if there were historical could you would likely need Techstream, OBD Link/Fusion, or possibly BlueDriver? There are other diagnostic solutions but they are $$$
I believe the code indicates a failing neutral safety switch module. Double check your battery and alternator are good. Auto Zone or Pep Boys will do this for free. Failing power can cause weird issues if it is the case.
