Good luck to you!
Last time I refilled the reservoir was about 2 weeks ago. At 5 days post refill, the reservoir was down 1/2 way from full towards empty. At 2 weeks post refill, no coolant is in the reservoir.

I think I will do this service next weekend.

Anyone know off-hand the size of tubing to use for the block drains?

Thanks!

EDIT:
I need to confirm this will fit but plan to use one of these I need to confirm this will fit but plan to use one of these

I didn't measure them when I located them but I estimate 3/8"'ish Outer diameter tube should work....
this is for a v6 4runner but I'd be surprised if the actual drains are different part numbers (but haven't checked)

I need to let things cool down so I can remove the spill free funnel and then fill up the recovery tank but this sure made filling and bleeding the air out easy and clean.

I put vehicle on 4 ramps to drain radiator and passenger side drain block. I think I was close to what Jacket saw 9 quarts. By the time I got to this project this morning I wasn't up for the challenge of that driver side drain block.

I like to have extra room underneath so put on 4 Rhino ramps for drain and then "safely" put a floor jack under the rear diff and slightly raised rear so I could pull the Rhino ramps out and let the rear down.

I wanted to bleed with front in the air.

I used this one with green adapter and cap marked "B"

A good tip as suggested in the spill free funnel manual to ensure no spillage if fluid left in funnel:

Slightly compress top radiator hose and then put the funnel plug in. Release radiator hose and remove funnel. I didn't see a drop.

I went for a decent drive and not any drop in recovery tank so appear to be good there. I'll check after next drive but don't expect any significant coolant will need to be added.

I wish I had used one of these funnels on my G35x I changed coolant in a couple years back. It would have made the process so much easier.

Default Help locating where coolant is leaving the system

So I noticed the coolant on my 2010 with 104,000 miles was low and I have added coolant only to see it become low again. I have see the thread on the valley plate leak. I don’t see any leaks around the water pump or radiator.
There is a shop here that says they will do the valley plate repair for $1400 plus 1-2 hours of cost to diagnose. I would like to avoid that 1-2 hour charge and just deal with the independent shop or even the Toyota or Lexus dealer cost to do the repair.

Do you see any pink stains underneath vehicle on rear area of engine?

If nothing there take a look at post #44 in the valley plate leak ... you will need a borescope

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...l#post10922223

Rule out the cheap and make sure your radiator cap isn't leaking

Going to replace the waterpump, hoses and belt in a couple of weeks. Is there a concentrate super long life coolant available? I only see a premix one. Thanks.

This morning replaced.... OEM hoses, clamps, thermostat, and simple drain and fill of coolant from radiator..

That bottom hose clamp was a bear. I had to loosen the power steering line clamp to get my clamp tool in there. The power steering line was too close to the lower radiator hose clamp to get the following tool in there.

Is it advisable to do a coolant flush at around 60K miles ( current levels and color are ok ) ?

Also, if performing such service, 2 Gallons ( pre-mixed ) should more than suffice, right ?

Thanks!

From the maintenance schedule:
120 Months or 100,000 Miles ... ❑ Rotate tires ❑ Replace engine coolant (see page 70)

Hi Folks,
I'm about to do a coolant change to my 2014 GX and would like to double check the part number of the coolant before ordering from the dealer. Is this correct :
00272-SLLC2 (Toyota Genuine Fluid Long Life Coolant)

That's a 1 gallon jug, I think I will need 4 jugs to drain/refill radiator and engine block. Is that right?
Cheers
