I'd be surprised if they were in a different location. I believe the majority of the differences between the LS and GX engines are on the top end. Only one way to truly find out though....

I don't see anything about TS or OBD methods. Attached are coolant replacement instructions.

So I decided to do the LS460 first. The engine block drain is up and behind the alternator. I managed to get a socket on it put could not turn it, basically impossible to get to the fitting. So I just went with draining as much as I could and changed the hoses and belt. Doing the GX today.

It went well drivers side drain **** is fairly easy to get to, passenger side was difficult. Drained the Driver side first and it was a lot of fluid, passenger side was minimal. I would recommend doing the driver side and if you don't have the ability/patience to get to the passenger side drain you could skip it. It is definitely worth while draining the block.

I have drained the radiator and the block from the drivers side, all 2 gallons. Looks like its half of the coolant, i just refilled, as not sure how to drain the rest and did not want tonspend another half day to get 1 more quart from the system. The access of the drains is pretty difficult, but this writeup helped a lot!

The Toyota coolant freezing temperature is -34F, is there any coolant or a concentrate mix that would have a lower freezing point?

-34 F (-37 C) is the lowest temperature freezing point of any anti-freeze/coolant. You would have to use a block heater to overcome anything lower.
My personal option is to never go anywhere the temperature gets that low!!!

Default Testing the coolant PH with a multimeter

This is a good way to check your coolant quality

Interesting... I thought I remember seeing this years ago and never tried it out. I'll have to check mine to see what it is at. My water pump was swapped with several gallons of new coolant about half my current mileage ago.

Default Engine coolant on GX

Hey, i got a reminder on my car that its time to replace my engine coolant. I was wondering if i only gotta stay with Toyota Super Long Life Coolant or perhaps i could just go to a local AutoZone instead of a dealer and get equivalent coolant, 50:50 pre-diluted mix instead of driving all the way to the dealer, live quite far from one.
