My 2006 RX330 had the leather replaced by the dealer due to a coil burn. After the leather was replaced the entire seat went dead. The dealership ended up replacing the entire seat. Everything still works good to this day and that was several years ago. I"d let them replace it now while you still have the warranty.
Don't be on the fence about it. I told you they killed the seat and repaired it for your piece of mind. If you don't fix it now and do it on your own later and something goes wrong, you won't have the warranty behind you.
I bought my 2013 GX460 with leather damage from the previous owners dog. I used the kit below and the results came out great, especially for a first time novice leather repair. I used the kit below with the tint toner kit to get a near perfect color match. If I had spent more time the perforations would have come out better. Hope this helps someone.
That looks great. I am sure most people won't notice it unless they were looking for it.
For those who are in a similar situation, you might want to spend a few extra dollars and get a diamond hole punch just to have the holes match a little better, but to be honest, I didn't realize the shape of the holes in the leather were not round until I saw your picture. https://www.amazon.com/DerBlue-Leath.../dp/B01E0YO02U
I was at the Lexus dealer and sat in a 2017 GX460 and noticed how stiff the seat bottom sides were compared to my 2011. Also noticed that the leather in that area is thicker and more durable feeling. I noticed this because my 2011 seat bottom edges are showing creases from getting in and out of the vehicle.
I asked the parts department about a new seat bottom leather cover, he said the leather and foam change happened around Feb 2016. Cost to upgrade just the seat bottom foam and leather (parts only); Leather = $900+ and foam around the mid $200.
First pic is of seat bottom. drivers side nearest the center console. Second pic of seat back.

2017 Black Preforated Leather vs Sepia Semi-Aniline Leather
Hello, I have until the 15th to make changes to my GX order.
I'm getting Starfire Pearl and love the look of White Exterior with Black Leather Interior. But, is the perforated leather inferior to the Semi-Aniline leather or are they just different? It's always been my preference to have Black leather interior, but I also want the best quality leather, and the selection doesn't offer Black Semi-Aniline leather. Thoughts?

Are you getting a Luxury model? If yes then it comes with Semi-Aniline which is softer and better. If you get a Premium then it comes with perforated leather. If you get a base model then it comes with NuLux - fake leather. Sepia is just "chocolate" color leather.
Hi GoHuskers, thank you. Yes, I'm getting a Premium. The route that I'm going through right now to order offers the ability to do Black Perforated, Ecru Perforated, and Sepia color Semi-Aniline. Not a fan of Sepia color, but am torn since I do of course want the softer leather.
I really wish the luxury version offered a regular bench and not captain since I need 7 seats. There are so much more options to pick from. I just can't do with 6 seats though =T
