thanks for the info, Morimoto's are damn expensive lol...I wanted fresher look on DRLs while retaining high beams and swap from warm to cool look but at $120 I think the warm look is just fine lol
My guess is that it is called 2 stroke because it can work in the 2 voltage ranges, so they should work.
A few potential reasons for the listing note on the low voltage:
my guess as most likely: could be the lister is meaning not for dual filament bulbs, those with lows and highs in one package. The listing is for h11 h8 h9 which are all single filaments.
other:
could be fakes, a counterfeit might not have added the expense of the second circuit
could be that the lister doesn't know about these, yet the listing seems copied from the Morimoto info except for the added note
could be defectives to be sold for only the 12V section
If all you want is to have a 6k DRL, and you are OK with having the DRL in a higher location, then $20-$40 has you covered, with the additional benefit of LED turn signals. I think I show the part in an earlier post, the switchback. You dont need all the other complex stuff I showed, just swap the signal, run 1 wire, and add resistors/relay if needed for flash frequency. Here's how it would look:
If you want to do this you could make a new thread for just the DRL/turn signal mod and have a write up with pics. Unless there's already one out there.
Those appear to be "version 1.0" of the 2 stroke bulbs. I have a pair of the 2.0 2 strokes coming Friday and will report back, but everything I've read shows me they will work fine with DRL and highbeam
The 1.0 had CREEs and did work with DRL, the 2.0 use Philips. The CREE were slightly brighter but the Philips give a better pattern. We'll be waiting to hear how the 2.0 go.

looks pretty good, wouldn't mind it in higher location like this, matter of fact I think I would really like this with strong amber bulb initially I wanted something cooler looking for DRL's because they look archaic in contrast with low beam HIDs or halogens, whatever is in there lol

Amber would be different. Take a rely and wire it to turn on an LED amber signal in that position when the signal is off, powered by IGN. Add a resistor if needed on the source signal side for your flasher circuit. Then you should be good to go, amber steady on with IGN until you turn on the signals, then it should blink OFF and ON instead of then usual ON and OFF. Sounds interesting.
Currently bulbfacts.com shows the 2stroke 2.0 as not DRL also. I wrote to ask why, and how they got to the 6V for the test. There's a difference in 6V from PWM, 6V from relay switching and 6V from a bench power supply for LEDs. Not so much of a difference for halogens.
Bulbfacts got back to me. He used a 6V AC type adapter and they didn't work. This doesn't mean they wont work for us, I believe they will. 6V from a PWM is different than 6V from an AC adapter is different from 6V from relay switching is different from 6V from a bench power supply for LEDs. Halogens won't notice any difference but LEDs will.

I haven't read this whole thread, but are the DRLs on these GX's PWM via amps? I am here to seek what you guys are doing and if any of it can be applied to the third gen RX or 2nd gen GS. Have any of you guys looked into the dimmer module by Xenon Depot? Supposedly on the newer Tacoma's and 4Runner's the dimmer module allows use of the LED 9005 as a DRL and separate High Beam, however I do not think every LED bulb has been tested with them. Looking at swaps myself, there is another solution that comes from the motorbiking world, however I am not sure how feasible it is.

Installed the Morimoto 2 stroke 2.0 bulbs today. Installation was stupid easy. I have not done the flicker reduction boxes yet (on order still) but I can get by. You can really only see flicker if you rapidly move your eye across the beam.
They work fine in DRL mode and the highbeams are a marked improvement. I'm happy with the quality and the purchase. No error messages, etc.
