It will definitely set off the alarm if fully locked but think I see what I need to do.

I'm finally taking this on today and went with nuts and bolts instead of the self tap screws as i feel it will eventually wear out the plastic and fail. I will post pics when i'm done..taking longer than expected as i needed to make a hardware store run due to some caps that i wanted to be fancy about and then the wife took the car to the grocery store... can't blame her, its her car after all.

msgs350: Since you may have the rear door plastics off can you see if this yellow button in this post is an emergency release?

In addition... can you see if there is anything on lock mechanism that can actuate a rear door release? There may not be anything... or will likely set the alarm off. Thinking about using a electronic servo or solenoid with a switch to actuate a rear door release from the inside.

A lot to ask but greatly appreciated if you have time. :-) No worries if you don't have time.

Thanks!

Finally installed mine since I picked it
up from Acrad35751 a few months back. Install was pretty straight forward (panel removal tools are a must in my opinion) with the info collected from this thread. I opted to use nuts and bolts to mount this rather than the self tapping screws that came with the table. For a cleaner look, I also opted to get covers similar to what you would use for liscense plates for my install.

I saw that OrangeBoxxFab will be releasing a drop down table for the 460 soon. However, the similar table for the 470 runs $400+, so I would imagine a similar price, although they have more features w/ the molle panel.

With that being said, I went ahead and ordered a Kaon table from Australia. After conversion and shipping, it was right at $260. I have a toddler and feel like I always need an extra place to set stuff, so this should be a perfect solution.

I’m now a new member of the Kaon club.
Thanks for @ltsr for coordinating the purchase. Install was straightforward and I just screw it into the back plastic panel for now. Will eventually take it out and use the bolts at a later time.

Hope to put it to many uses in the future.

It looks like @bbqsoup and I got newer/different hardware than previous Kaon folks. Got hex head self tapping bolts instead of Philips head. They also included a rubber lining on the tray itself where it meets the gate plastic when closed.

When I saw the self tapping hex, I was like, my power tool will strip the rubber panel LOL. So I ended up drill a small hole and use a ratchet.

So self tapping into the steel part of door? I need to get around to securing mine into metal part of door. It would increase my load capacity of table significantly.

I used the self tapping hex head screws for now too... will bolt it to the plastic panel when I take it off to do the soundproofing.

I had some of this in my supplies but this will work for that rubber strip piece.

This was a roll I bought in 2018.... not available here but this stuff is sold everywhere. I'm gonna put some on mine... never thought about it until I saw the updates on this updated KAON model.

KAON sent me latch kits for the two tables I ordered for the new upgrades minus the rubber seal trim but I already have a spool of that.

I plan to install mine today.

msgs350: I will get yours into the mail on Monday.
