Default Trac light?

I'm working, so can't deal with this right now. Wife called, and said she started noticing a definite lack of power. Seemed like it started shifting poorly as well, and the engine fan is running continuously. (runs way too much anyway) After a few miles the "Trac" light came on. She made a stop, and when she restarted the car, the light was still on, car felt "Sluggish" . I told her to hit the "Trac" switch on the dash, try turning it on or off. witch she did, no change
We have an appointment @ Lexus next week for its first service. I will not be able to do anything with it until then anyway. Anybody seen anything like this before? She says she is scared to dive it, its running that poorly.
She will call Lexus today when she gets a chance and see what they say.

That ET phone home feature is pretty cool.
Can you request Lexus to get you a loaner and drop it off since you can't drive the truck?

Ok, got it sorted out. So it says in the book, the "Trac" light will come on if the fuel cap leaks. ?????????????????? Really, with the way too much techno crap in this car, they couldn't have a "Fuel cap" icon?? anyway. She hasn't had the fuel cap off, or put fuel in it for a week or more. It's down to about 1/4 tank, so why it decided to leak now is a new question. But at any rate, the wife trouble shot it herself, read the book, and fixed it. She said the fuel cap was on hard, and not easy to remove. Air DIDNT escape when she took the cap off. Then several miles of driving and a few starts and the idiot lights went out, and car started to run and shift normal again. Still intriguing. I could see it if she had gotten gas recently, and why the funny shifting, and poor performance. maybe just imagination. So crisis averted..........................

Good to hear you got it straightened out. Definitely odd notification for a loose fuel cap.

Yea, especially with the loss of power, and shifting issues. Really strange. If it was reported by someone else, I probably would be a bit skeptical. But the wife has lived with me for some 40+ yrs. some of the mechanic, and jack of all trades has rubbed off. So when she says its doing something Odd, I tend to listen. And she sorted it our by herself. Read the manual and got it taken care of. Amazing then she headed over to her Mother's place. (Elderly) Water running out from under the sink. Checks it out, decides its the dishwasher, turns it off. Looks under the sink. Decides it doesn't look like ours, exactly. But water is coming out of a hose. Decides that's the drain for the dishwasher. see's where it should be plugged in to the drain pipe. Plugs it in and it works. Send me a picture, and it should have a clamp on there. She finds the clamp on the floor, reinstalls it, all good. With me gone so much, she has learned to be resourceful.

Sorry but I have to disagree with "way too much techno crap" This is a problem that should show up along with other problems on the Nav screen or dash which requires more technology for the GX. I get that you want an icon light, I want an explanation of the problem on my screen. So far Carista has worked for me and they now have a monthly fee.
A Lexus should show details of a problem on the screen. Not icons that need to be looked up and sometimes not even relevant to the symbol that has several meanings depending on how many icons are lit (secondary air intake failure icons have no indication of the actual problem). We need a computer to show problems on the display...... Oh wait we have a computer that could do this

When I started reading your thread I had a feeling it'll be the loose gas cap, it's the first thing to check when u have a Trac light on. Had this problem on my older GX470. I have kept German/Italian cars in the past this definitely much better then changing fuel injectors on a 2 year old car. So won't complain about the technology.
