Smile "Take To Car Dealer" Warning Light

I've had a nice LS400 for a few months and I'm delighted with it.

The "Take Vehicle To Lexus Dealer" service remider light just came on. Is it simply a mileage-related reminder or is it a warning that something is wrong? Is there a way I can turn it off without going to the dealer? I prefer to do my own maintenance, when practical.

Thanks

Shows how much I know ... been driving LS400s for over 19 years and didn't realize any of them had a service reminder light. Which light is it?

Default Take Vehicle to Dealer Light

It it's a circle with 3 short dashed lines around it, one on either side. 'Kind of looks like a wheel with two brake shoes on the outside.

way to answer your own question.

how did you translate a circle with broken lines surrounding it to be a "take to lexus dealer" light?
the forums have got this wild feature called "search", i know it doesn't sound like it would help much....

Hey Bennay, I tried the search feature first, but didn't get any useful results. 'Got some "engine" codes but nothing on this issue.

I translated the symbol into "Take Vehcile to Lexus Dealer" by reading the owners manual (RTFM).

Unfortunately, there wasn't any other info.

I saw that one, but didn't think it was the same issue.

I'll check the brakes.

Thanks.

That icon IS for brakes (brake pads)...there are sensors for brakes (the one that "snaps" when the pad is cutting it cause it is worn off)...

Go to lexus dealer if you don't have any other mechanic, or buy brake pads and go to mechanic for replacement...do that as soon as possible so you don't damage the brake disc..
