Default GX 460 Performance Chip

Considering a chip mod for more power. Any thoughts or experience with this on other cars? I know no one has it on the GX here. Looking for recommendations with a reputable seller that will give me the maximum power .

Thanks

I have no experience with the chip but I can't help but notice that the guy was able to get to 120mph. i've only been able to get to about 115 before hitting a cutoff. I wonder if the international editions don't have the cutoff or if the chip allowed him to exceed 115

I've seen on other vehicles that some speed restrictions imposed in US are not present on vehicles delivered to other markets. I'd also be curious if the speedometer error on this vehicle really cut you off at 110MPH as that is the stated electronic cut speed here. One would probably need a GPS or something to confirm.

Over the years from other forums it seems chip gains are minimal at best on anything that doesn't have FI. Of course there is the same 4.6L engine available in the Tundra that makes 9HP more, 2 less ft-lb of torque and runs on regular so obviously some tweaking there. I can only wonder why Toyota chose to output of motor in GX. Fuel economy, reliability, NVM? Personally I'll take the torque. As they always say... torque gets you there and horsepower keeps you there.

Don't know what that means.
Ancient proverb I think

Reminds me of when I had an MP62 Supercharger and an NX wet-kit BIG pill on my '93 Miata and a GReddy set-up on my other '93 Miata. SC = immediate OMFG! Turbo = lag then the finger of God flicking you up to speed. Nothing like 300 RWHP on two 2k pound vehicles giving you different perspectives on power.

This is a pretty good overview

Torque is what you feel during off the line acceleration

If I'm not mistaken this upgrade would void your factory and extended warranty on most components of the vehicle!

It more than likely would at least on the powertrain. Not sure if any markers are left in ECU even in physical unit was removed either.

Since the Middle East version of the GS460 and LS460 use the same engine as our GX460, anyway to get those additional HP and Torque? The GS and LS give 347 HP and 339 lb/ft.
