Purchased OEM full length gas tank skid plate from the dealership today. Here is the verified part number. Came with standard body panel black paint primer so I cleaned, prepped, and coated both sides prior to install to prevent corrosion.

Apparently two versions. The first one above is for non-air suspension on rear and this following is for air suspension models. No idea what extra $75 pays for between versions.
You will need two (2) additional “splash shield bolts” PN 90119-08763 or you can use M8-1.25x30 bolts from Home Depot with lock washers and wide flat washers. The white plastic chafe piece off the original skid plate does NOT fit the full length version so I used a tie-wrap to keep two (2) plastic fuel lines from drooping down and scraping against the sharp metal edge. The full length skid plate came with the standard semi-gloss body panel black paint so I cleaned it then coated with rubberized rust proofing. I then sprayed rust inhibitor in-between the crevices where the sheet metal parts are stamped together.
I like the Victory 4x4 sliders but hear that there have been reports (with pictures) that the leading edge of the sliders extend into the front wheel arch area... any word on if Victory has resolved this issue?
I'll use Budbuilt as an example since that is what I have. Even if you don't plan to take off-road the first and second skid are simply bolt up with existing bolts.
One can even get away with replacing just the front skid if you want easier oil filter access. This config does leave a gap but it works with OEM second skid.
A few pics before I completed install but shows co-existence with OEM. They will surely sell you partial kits.
@Acrad, sorry to revive an old thread, but do these budbuilt skids install with the front plastic fascia (whatever it's called) in place or is that part removed?
Nice! This is one of the few (if only) front skids I found that has a removable panel to get to the oil filter w/o removing the skid plate. I've had RCI skids on many past Toyotas but the 4Runner skid requires it to be removed for oil changes. Decisions.... will have to see what Black Friday offers up. Thank you for the pic and showing the filler plate can be attached.
