No rattles or damage. Got a wash but no gas fill, never heard of this. Dropped off at 9:15 AM it was done at 2:15 PM, but I did have a loaner for the day.
That is a good reminder to those just coming upon this recall about which one is replaced.
This is true, passengers side only. I had mine replaced and there was a small issue when they replaced the dashboard. The drivers side dash speaker cover wasn’t clipped in correctly and there was a gap and lift to the cover. I was able to readjust and fixed the issue. I did however drop it off with almost an empty tank of gas, it was returned full.
Just got my done yesterday. With gas filled. In fact, it is part of the process, was asked to bring the car in with empty tank. While in the service, I got several calls from the tech along with the service advisor, and asked about all the mods that I have put on the GX, that was interesting

I'm planning to take my 2014 to do recall soon. Do you guys think dealer will be willing to install the MTS module as part of it if i ask them and supply the module, since they are going to take the glovebox apart anyways?

Unlikely dealer will do that. It's a liability issue, especially MTS is not offered in US as an official option for GX, technically, it is not even approved by "regulation" point of view. If you know someone in person and one is able to do you a favor, it is entirely possible. But just simple for the convenience for dealer to install, will not likely to happen.
The recall actually involve more than just take the glovebox off. Even it is related "passenger side airbag inflator", the entire procedure requires taking nearly all the center stack (radio/Nav) off, to access airbag control module, which is also being replaced. It's not a quick replacement.
They are pretty rare as only the ultra rich could afford them. Interestingly I don't see GX as a model being sold in VN, only RX and LX. It must have been imported in. If that's the case, it is very expensive, probably around $150k-$200k USD

just got mine back today from the recall. i dropped it off on Saturday at Kuni Lexus in greenwood village, they provided me a loaner car and kept it all weekend. did my oil change too while they had it. the loaner was a 2019 NX300, that sure was fun to drive around for a weekend. a lot peppier than the GX.
it is only the passenger airbag on the recall, i had read on other forums they were removing the whole dash to replace it. Lexus only unbolted the dash, lifted it up, then removed airbag through the glovebox some how. i was worried since i wired up some extra USB plugs in the glovebox but it didnt seem to present a problem. i haven't noticed any weird noises or rattling from the replacement so far.
