I'm running the Michelin LTX 275-65-18's and others have said the rears rub, here is mine with one rear tire stuffed and the other one hanging and I have no rubbing. Just thought I'd share.
I've never tried, I don't see a reason to have the same size tire under there since I don't have a matching chrome wheel. I've used the OEM Spare a few times, put a few hundred miles on it and have no issues.
The issue was never with the rear tires rubbing, it was with the front tires rubbing. If you have the adaptive suspension you might experience it more. The only real way to know if the rear tires rub is to take the tire off and inspect the inner side walls. This picture shows minor rubbing on the inner rear side wall with the 275 ltx ms2. Nothing major and I did not hear any sound of rear rubbing. Do you have 275' in the front?

Yes I do, I've had the rear tires off, no rubbing.
