First of all, just joined the Lexus big boys club. Just picked up a 2015 GX460 Luxury Starfire Pearl on Black w/ ML.

Question i have is this... I noticed on the Lexus website that it states...

"As you approach, lights located on the side-view mirrors automatically illuminate the ground next to the doors to help prevent you from stepping in puddles or other potential hazards. And, to welcome you inside, the interior features white LED illumination."



First.. there are no puddle lights underneath the side view mirror. Only puddle lights are under the side step.

and 2nd... Where is the white LED illumination on the interior? Mine are 194 halogen bulbs. I know that for a fact since i already swapped them all out to LED bulbs myself. Only "LED" bulbs are the 4 amber LEDs in the footwell and underneath the front seats.

Am i missing something?

Nope, that's about right. I too am a bit disappointed that Lexus did not use white LED bulbs for all interior lighting. As far as the exterior lights, by the time I get close enough to the car where the lights would go on I am already opening the door so they are almost worthless. They should turn on when you are about 8-10 ft away to be worthwhile. There is no bulb under the side mirrors, only under the running boards. My wife's X5 had white LED's under the side mirrors and in the exterior handles and those were nice.

Do you have the illuminated sills?

Yes, that is part of the Luxury package I believe.

OP, you are correct.

For a car that prides itself on front and rear LED lights, you would expect LED turn signals, welcoming and interior lighting as part of the facelift.
