Default Good deal?

This one took a while for me to work out, so let me know...

MSRP 50255
Car sold for: 45000-45250 I can't seem t figure out the exact price...
Money Factor .0008
36 months
4k down
Residual is 29655
Fees are 589/96/700
Taxes are 2300 or 64 dollar added on each payment.

Georgia also has this stupd tax where you pay tax on the whole value of the car at 6.75%, no matter if buying or leasing. I was able to trade a car to get it reduced but still had to pay... I had to pay about 2300 in taxes...

I ended up paying 4000 down and 505 per month. Thoughts?

No one has any thoughts? 4k down paying 505 a month for 36 months? I assume other people have leased thsi car before....

Also any thoughts on buying vs. leasing it? If a new one comes out in 2017/18 dont you think it would be better to lease for 3 years and then get the new design? I assume the old design would loose more value fatster....

Thanks

First of all it shouldn't matter what anyone thinks. If you are happy with the deal that is all that matters. If you did a quick search you would probably find some posts of people talking about the prices they paid. Having said all that, I will tell you that to me 4k down seems a bit high. The deal I was able to work out was 2K down on a 57K (MSRP) GX for a $670ish payment. Don't have the final numbers as my vehicle hasn't arrived yet so nothing has been signed, just a deal agreed upon.

Great point BUT when you have posts where some people claim to have paid $500 above/below invoice, that becomes the standard in which others try to achieve. To some people IT DOES matter what other people paid and although I agree you that it shouldn't matter what other people thinks, at the end of the day every car buyer wants to drive away from the dealership in their shiny new vehicle with the satisfaction of knowing they didn't leave a single penny on the table. They bled the dealership dry.

One thing I know for a fact is that most automotive "prices paid" threads are filled with embellishment.

Again, I agree with you wholeheartedly but wanted to touch on the mentality of the "Good deal or not" posts.

Sure. Absolutely. I agree with you GX470ME. Didn't mean to come off negative. I guess there is a bit lost in tone when written text is all to go by to communicate something.

Oh on the contrary....there was no negativity detected at all.
