Angry malfunction messages

I have a 2023 GX460, under 5K miles. 3 times I have gotten these messages: Pre Collision System Malfunction, Lane Departure Alert Malfunction, Front Camera Unavailable, also says Visit Your Dealer. The first time was after a car wash, so I thought maybe water had gotten into the sensor. The messages never went away, so I disconnected my battery to clear them. It never happened after a car wash since then. Then 2 times (today the latest) I have walked out to my car after it has been parked for a couple hours in the hot sun and I get those messages. Both times, the messages clear after I stop the car for an errand or whatever and restart. Does anyone else get these messages? Is it something I have to live with during the hot summer months? Only had the card since October so this is my first summer.

Take it in to the dealer, you have 5,000 miles on your GX everything is covered so no it’s not something you have to live with.

When I get random messages on the dash, I always check the battery connection and battery health. I bought my 23 Lux in July last year after it was sitting on the lot a while. I did a couple upgrades and started seeing random messages that I would clear, but couldn't find a root cause. I got a new battery and haven't had an errant message since....I have one dash message left that I can't clear, but that's because I removed the entire air suspension, including the air springs and air pump, so I get the air suspension message on my dash...wish someone would figure out a way to get rid of that message....

@EverD Have you tried this? Do you still have your height sensor? This can reportedly address the air pump

This happened for the first time with our 2022 yesterday. After my wife turned off the GX and turned it back on the messages disappeared. @nomibear Did you have yours looked at by the dealer? It's a bit unsettling to see these messages on such a new vehicle. We only have 20K miles on our 2022.

I started getting these alert messages yesterday on my 2020 GX460.
"Pre-collision System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer"
"Lane Departure Alert Malfunction Visit Your Dealer"
"Front Camera Unavailable"
"Headlight System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer"
After restart, codes stopped, but came back today after another restart. Seems intermittent (so far) which makes me think a connection somewhere.

I have searched online and there are many suggestions to check (clean radar sensor, make sure camera is not obstructed by dirt or mud, check sensor/camera connections, check fuses, check for water ingress, disconnect battery, replace battery etc.), but there doesn't seem to be a definitive info on what causes this or how to resolve (I realize it could be caused by multiple issues, but posts I found online seemed to be more "try this" rather than actual solutions...).

I will investigate further this weekend and hopefully I'll find what is causing these alerts for me, but if anyone has any real experience with this please let me know.

Thanks

Lee

I actually made an appt with the dealer but decided to try a few things first. I changed my sway warning to OFF by going to LDA (lane departure alert) menu. I left everything else as is (sensitivity-standard, sway sensitivity-low). I don't know if this is what did the trick but I quit getting the messages. Also, we read a suggestion to turn the wheels to a hard left, then a hard right while parked. Who know if that helped also, but it was worth a try.

Closing the loop on my earlier post. I was getting the following alert messages on my 2020 GX460.
"Pre-collision System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer"
"Lane Departure Alert Malfunction Visit Your Dealer"
"Headlight System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer"
"Front Camera Unavailable"
The messages would go away when I restarted, but would come back on the 2nd or 3rd restart. I didn't see anything on the sensor in the grill (no mud, bugs, etc), and the windshield was clean in front of the camera. Because the alerts were intermittent, I suspected it was a connection somewhere. When the alerts were active on the dash, I checked for codes with a generic OBD reader, and no codes were detected (I didn't try techstream). With no codes, intermittent alerts, and the "Front Camera Unavailable" message, I thought it might be the front camera behind the rear view mirror. I removed the plastic cover around the rear view mirror, unplugged the camera module connector, and re-plugged it back in. It has been 5 days, multiple starts each day, and one 150 mile trip, and NO error messages.

Fingers crossed that this was my issue. Not sure that this would fix anyone else having similar error messages, but it is worth a try (and fairly easy to do).

cljones: I'm glad this seems to have fixed your problem! This was quite an old post of mine, and after the post I took my car to the dealer and they determined that my camera was bad. They replaced it and I have had no problem since then. I will make note of your fix because if it happens again, I will at least give it a try. My nearest dealer for warranty type issues is 120 miles away, so it is quite a hassle to have to go to them.
