Random 4Lo Issue
Hello everyone,
I have a 2010 LX GX460 base model, just about 170,000 miles. We've been experiencing this problem since mid-October and just looking for some guidance/insight on possible issues that may need to be corrected and possible costs. This is our "baby-mobile" and we've got a 3rd on the way, so a reliable car is a must. Will be driving normally (30-40mph) when 4lo, check engine, and anti-skid lights pop up.
The first time it happened the mechanic pulled the following codes:
Any insight appreciated!

The first time it happened the mechanic pulled the following codes:
- p0761 shift solenoid c performance / stuck off
- p1604 p1605 rough idle
- p2714 shift solenoid d performance / stuck off
- c2202 engine /ev control system malfunction
- u0073 control module communication off
- u0141 lost communication with BCM
Any insight appreciated!
The others may be caused by unplugging the battery but that P0761 and P2714 are transmission related and unfortunately usually ends up with a transmission replacement at some point.
There are options to consider like having the AT fluid replaced and some have replaced the solenoids in the valve body.

Just wanted to post an update for anyone in the same predicament.
We took the car to Lexus, they ran the codes and wanted to replace the transmission to the tune of $6800. They said they do not do any transmission work as far evaluating what could be wrong, they only replace. We decided to go to a transmission shop to see if we could get the price down for having the transmission rebuilt vs. replaced.
Smaller transmission shop pulled it apart, identified a handful of issues. One of which was the torque converter which had to be replaced. There were also some engine oil seals that needed to be replaced, and a few misc. items they took care of. Rebuilt the transmission (with warranty on the work for 2 years and x miles (I forget the number)). Total cost- $6100.
We are only a few weeks in to the rebuilt transmission, everything still normal. We'll be going back after 500 miles for a transmission re-check covered by the shop.
I'm sure the misc. items plus new transmission would have put us over that $6800 quoted price from Lexus. They wanted $300 for hood strut replacement on the same visit (a $24 part and 5 minute job, if you buy non-oem hood struts).
I wish the dealership had certified transmission technicians so we could have gotten a rental car.
