I have many Dts surround cds. Curious to know if the 2014+ gx are able to decode and play. Thanks!!

How does that format compare to DVD-Audio?

I have not listened to a dvd-a, I started collecting dts cds when I got my Acura RDX. For the vast majority of them are truly surround sound. also excellent fidelity as well. I imagine the 2010 -2013 are able to decode, because there is a DTS moniker above the cd tray with the Mark Levinson

I saw a post concerning dvd-a here. I believe it was the gs forum, they said it would decode but only when the vehicle was in park. the stereo considers it the same as a regular dvd

In short term, two have different compression and encoder. DVD-Audio has much higher capacity and density compare DTS-CD format, thus, DVD-Audio provides much better audio quality.

That is true. GX with MK audio option and/or RES option can play DVD discs (Audio or video) only when the vehicle in Park and Parking break applied as to US DOT regulation requirements. There are third party vender off the bypass solution such as BeatSonic.

Ahh, DTS, that brings back memories, I build my first surround system with Yamaha/DTS 7:1 at that time, and first movie was Saving Private Ryan, DTS was a massive step up, truly felt you were in the middle of the beach during the landing...
