Complimentary Maintenance
Just closed on a '23 GX a few weeks ago. Couple questions/comments regarding the complimentary maintenance:
1. Does the first have to be at 5,000 miles +/-?
2. Does it have to be at the dealership where I purchased the car?
3. Is the second maintenance service at 10K miles and what do they do?
4. Still have not received the email regarding my 2nd key fob. Only have 1.

2. I would think any Lexus dealership would provide this service.
3. I had the 10,000 mile service done about a month after my 5000 mile service. I only had around 5300 miles on my odometer but it had been a year since I bought it. Basically they changed the oil and Filter and checked out all the things listed in your owners manual for the 10k checkup. The 10k checkup is done regardless after you have you GX a year even if you haven't driven 10k the first year of ownership..
4. I got 2 key fobs when I purchased my 22 GX. I would keep checking with the dealer where you bought it or call Lexus USA and get a time frame when your second key will be available.
the service is dealer dependent. For me, they only do an oil change with the second service at one year. The first service they offer to change configurable items and do basically a vehicle inspection. The goal of these is to get you addicted to the dealership service.
Copy. Luckily I sent my GS' to a private mechanic for many years.
1. I had my 22 GX 5000 mile service done when I had a little over 5000 miles 11 months after I bought it. I went on a trip out west and had the service done at my dealer when I got back.

Thanks for the info CatDaddy. I'll find a much a dealership much closer to the house for my service. Selling dealership did not provide me any info about this at all and I'll keep checking in on them regarding the keys. Very annoying to spend for a new car and only get 1 fob.

If you need a 2nd key. You should have told your dealership, you’re not buying a car with only one key? They have keys for sale. Both regular and Smart Card
A little research goes a long way when you are spending 70K on something

When did you pick up the car? Warranty and service paperwork come in the mail a month or so after purchase

Like I said before. Tell them you need to two keys. And make up what every excuse you want. Multiple drivers in the household. Long distance trip.
They can make you a key. They have them for sale. A regular key, A smart Card Key. Maybe even one of the old style Valet keys. Just tell them they can keep the key that Lexus send them in two months
I can understand the frustration but the dealer may not have any smart keys to hand out, GX buyers were not the only customers receiving just one key. https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/...its-smart-keys

If they can sell you a key. You can ask for one up front. And the dealership can keep the one Lexus will send in July
If they say no way. You walk out with your 70k in your pocket.

You can't " ruin the deal " by asking your dealership for something. They can just say no

Grand scheme of things, I still purchased a vehicle that I will keep for 15 years, but I'll give it another go at the dealership.
