Low gas light on dash dead - what type of bulb do i need?
On my 2005 GX470, the "low gas" light on the dashboard never illuminates. It is off when i turn the key to start the car and it is off when i am really low on gas.
I suspect, the bulb in the instrument cluster for this warning light is dead.
Does anyone know what type of bulb i need for the cluster warning lights? Part number?
Thank you in advance!

Pretty sure they're LEDs, as no replacement bulb is shown in the parts diagrams.
So probably the float in the tank has gone bad.
Something you may want to consider is never running it below 1/4 or 1/8 of a tank. In older vehicles, trash builds up in the bottom of the tank (gas station pumps aren't always filtered) and you'll want to avoid picking any of it up and clogging your fuel or injector pump.

Does the gas light come on on your GX when you turn the key?
Also, the actual gas gauge on my dashboard works well. It seems to measure my fuel level pretty well.

My low-fuel light does not come on when I first turn the key.

This is very interesting feedback.
The light may be perfectly fine then (if it even exists) and the fuel sensor may be shot.
I guess, i will keep an eye on the fuel gauge and miles driven since last fill up.
Thanks!

I've been meaning to check on ours to see if the low fuel light comes on at startup, but haven't gotten to it yet, sounds like that has already been confirmed for you though.
This is not a vehicle I'd be pushing near the limits of range though, it's so damn thirsty it requires some additional planning ahead. "Fill up when you can if there's any doubt" type of mentality.
