07' GX470 108k...smoking on startup
Just picked up a 2007 GX470 w/ 108k miles over the weekend. The temperature has been dropping here in NorCal and when I test drove it this weekend, the white smoke came out on startup. Not too much and not just a little puff either. I thought it was probably due to the colder weather and the car sitting on the dealer lot...condensation in exhaust...etc. Took it for the test drive and felt good. Smoke stopped coming out after a few minutes of driving. No smoke after that. Continued my inspection and the car checked out well. I bought it after negotiating a bit. Started it up and the white smoke came out again...about the same as the first. Drove home and no smoke after a few minutes once again. Got home and when I pulled into the driveway I could see it smoking a bit, not as munch as startup but still a little smoke. I used it a few times during the next few days running errands around town and getting used to the ride. I notice that at every startup, there is white smoke, and when I am at a stop light parked with the car running, it smokes. None of my other cars do this. The GX is parked in the garage on level ground. Coolant is good and isn't dropping.
Anyone else experience this with their GX470? Normal for the GX?

If the coolant and oil levels are remaining constant, I wouldn't worry.
Most likely, it's overnight condensation in the exhaust system.
No smells or anything?

The catalytic converter will burn off small amounts of oil or water when hot but not at startup when cold. So a oil leak or water leak is more obvious when the engine is cold. Not sure if this is part of what your describing.

When it's "smoking" walk around back and take a whiff of the exhaust, does it smell sweet like coolant? If no, then you're fine, it's likely just moisture in the exhaust system.
