Default Flip key for my GX

Today i got the switchblade style key from ebay(1010keys) and able to transfer the "guts" from the old key to the new in 10mins. It is a bit bulky but im very happy when compared to the old keys. I would rate 7.5 out of 10 on the quality of the material.

I was scared about the transponder issue that i read somewhere, but the car started fine and all the buttons works. I still need to test whether i can open the glove box using the new key.

Thanks for the link. Very tempted. Post some pics of your new key. BTW, how many did you get? Was it easy to install? TIA.

Hey thats pretty cool! The ad says pre-cut, howd that work? That was going to be my main question, what did you do about getting the blade cut for your truck.

Did you use the key code or the picture method? I would be interested in how smooth the replacement key works.

seems pretty cheap for two cut keys. I have broken one of my keys (JBwelded back together). that is the main reason.

I send couple of hi-res images and the keycode(i got it from the dealer) and he cut the key for me.
I ordered two so i don't have to see the OEM key again for at-least 2yrs+(hope it lasts). The only mechanism inside the new key was a spring - sorry i did not get pictures when i opened the keys.

Below are some pictures from my cellphone - hope it helps a bit.

Not bad at all. Actually, it's pretty nice looking. I'm considering it now! Thanks for the pics.

lol - glad hes not in nyc.
Without the tranponder, its gonna be a piece for cake for him to steal the car.

oh - btw, the logo and "denso number" on the back of the key are just stickers to cover the screws.
The rim of the keychain hole is silver and looks a bit cheap. Those are the two reasons for 7.5 out of 10.
