Default Front Marker Light

Hi all -

Our GX just failed inspection because of the front marker light, shop wanted like $25 to change the bulb so I figured I would quickly do it myself (needed a few other small things as well, such as front wipers and license plate light). At any rate, I can't figure out how to get this damn bulb out, thinking now the $25 would have been well spent! LOL

Any ideas? Drivers side marker light

Easier if you can get the front up on ramps or jackstands, lay on your back and reach up, locate the correct socket, twist and pull, replace bulb, and blindly get it back where it came from. If it's dirty, the socket can be really hard to twist, but don't get all rowdy or you could break the little wings off it and then you're probably going to have to pull the headlight housing, which involves removing the front bumper.

Man, you're a life saver. Not sure why I didn't think to come up from underneath like you would with the turn signals. That made it far easier! Now to figure out the license plate lights... Lexus doesn't make it easy. LOL Appreciate the help!

License plate lights are a PITA, have to pull the rear cargo door panel, starting with the handle (don't break it, the clips get brittle). The one side has a squeeze and pull clip, then the whole handle pulls out. There's probably full instructions somewhere on this site if you search for it.

Agree. Be careful with the inside handle. Speaking as someone who broke theirs...

Guys- no need to pull the rear door panel. It’s a total PITA. You replace license plate bulbs from the outside. One bulb on the left and one on the right. Pic here shows the right side bulb. Put your finger in the slot as shown and push hard towards the right side and pull down. For the left bulb, push towards left side and pull down. Twist bulb out of holder and replace.
