My wife's 2007 gx470 was working fine yesterday. Shut it off, tried to start it this morning and it would just click, sounded like a relay. She tried jumping it but still nothing. I got home and tested battery and it's charged. While trying to start it goes completely dead and a voice starts speaking? Then horn starts to intermittently beep, so I disconnect the battery. Now when I reconnect the battery the car makes a noise for a few seconds, then the horn starts to blow again. Turning the key has no response.

Putting a volt meter on the battery is not a real test of batt ability.

If the batt tests ok on a load tester, then maybe it's a starter issue. Getting starter out is a real pita.

 

You can try the old 'tap on the starter a few times with a hammer' fix. Worth giving it a shot if the starter is stuck.

 

Oops, the starter is under the intake. Can't do that.
