Default Rear door / manually unlock

rear door (cargo door) on gx 470 (04) is locked and the actuator is dead. I have removed the interior paneling and the door handle but can't figure out how to manually trip the locking mechanism just to get the door open. I assume this is possible, and just need to know how to open the door when the actuator is frozen in the lock position. If anyone can help me with manually unlocking the cargo door from inside, I would be very appreciative!

Disconnect the cable that’s connected to the handle... then pull the metal part while holding the black sleeve.

Odds are it isn’t the actuator and it is the “bowden cable” itself. The sleeve likes to break... this makes it feel like the door is still locked.

Try Jason's suggestion first. If it still doesn't open here is how you access the manual Unlock lever on the actuator.

1. Remove metal cover
2. Open plastic access cover
3. Slide metal "Lock/Unlock" lever UP

You seem to be in the business of parts... I’ve got an idea to run by you. I’ll send you a pm.

So I had a similar problem with my 460. Rear door worked fine this morning.
Went out to put the gas can in the hatch to fill up this afternoon. NADA ZIP.

Rear glass still worked. But no manual engagement. Door was in closed position.
Tried the rear panel hack(literally) making the small access hole in First Aid Kit cubby:

Ended up taking the PITA panel off with the door closed...Maverick lower me down some dinney-mite!
I found out the mechanical was fine. Handle-Cable-slider-latch.
Even holding down and whopping the rear door wouldn't budge. Sore hand though.
Time to think....hmmm
Searched around found this pic:

Even though it's from a 470. It's pretty close. Tried turning that white screw both ends of travel. Nope.
Was able to pry open the small cover and get a right angle pick and catch that slider. Takes a decent tug.
But could definitely feel it slide over.
Hit the latch and it "Popped" Yippeee. Who's Da Man?
So mechanical good. Actuator Bad

So if your stuck, it's not too bad. Just don't get frustrated when taking the trim panels off with the door closed.
Cheers and many thx to Actuators-Plus for posting that pic!

I was able to get to the door latch from the inside. have to take the panel off. my technique for getting the panel off was to create a little space from the top center and then push out the left and right sides from the clips. you can't really get a tool on the edges of the side with the door closed. then pull the plastic back, and look for the lever circled in the photo in red to pop to the door open.
