Default Bluetooth upgrade

Hi everyone,

My ancient 2006 Bluetooth is horrible, only comes out of my driver speaker, and I can’t play music from my phone.

Search results weren’t great and span back 10+ years, so hopefully someone has done a recent upgrade that works?

Basically, I just want the sound to come through all the speakers, have it be crystal clear like most cars with bluetooth, and be able to play music from my phone, all while keeping the OEM Nav unit.

I don’t mind getting my hands dirty, so have any of you found a great solution?

Thanks in advance!

USA SPEC BT45-TOY is what you seek. It’s plug and play and will give you BT connectivity, usb charging, aux port and microphone for phone calls. It’s apparently very reliable and gets the job done. I ordered one and will be getting it installed soon.

Yeah i just read your thread. Will follow it for sure to see your thoughts. Just really didn’t want to add the microphone and things, was hoping to be able to use the OEM microphone to not add clutter.

I don’t think there any perfect solution for the gx’s old, ****ty Nav interface from my findings but I definitely am not an expert. Just have spend many nights researching the various options and eventually disappointed by most.

lol I’m afraid you’re correct. Just did a round trip LA-Florida drive, and will be doing a LA-CO-LA, LA-FL via Chicago, then FL-NYC...tired off listening to the same CDs and cassettes 🤦🏼‍♂️

I just picked up an 07. My plan is to get the beatsonic MVA-81with a single din flip out screen.

The beatsonic was a close second place for me, and if I don’t like the bt45-toy for some strange reason I will definitely go that route. Seems like a sweet product and solution.
