Default Engine and AC Filter Replacement

I must be dumb but I can't find when to replace the Engine and Cabin Air Filters in my '07 GX. I have searched the owner's maintenance manual 3 times. It mentions the LX and the RX but not the GX.
Some of my Lexus/Toyota say 30K for each. Some of my Lexus say 15k for Cabin filter and 30K for Engine filter.

I need some help. Thanks!

Air filter is in the left side of the engine under all that plastic beauty trim, cabin filter is behind the glove box, drop that door and there it is...try googling both....you find instructions on you tube I’m sure....even how to take your washing machine apart...

I know how to replace them. I don’t know the mileage to replace them. I have googled and YouTubed and read the maintenance manual 3 times.

just take the cabin filter out and look at it......depends where you live , where ya park, you can just shake the leaves and use again...same thing with air filter....take a peek. Milage is a poor judge...drive dirty dusty roads and you;ll need new ones sooner vs later.....i usually take a look once a year....

I replace mine yearly, after pollen season.

The service guide from the sticky actually does not show the interval. Why they thought we'd want the RX and LX, but not the GX ...

If you have environmental allergies, I would suggest you change the cabin air/pollen filter at the beginning of every Spring (pollen season). If no allergies, you can stretch it to 2 years or 12-15k miles. These intervals are arbitrary, and, as mentioned by ALAN, depend on an individual application/user. Some people never change the filter as they do not use AC/fan and ride with windows open. In that case you don't have to change it as it does not affect the performance of the vehicle. As for engine air filter, depending on conditions, 15k-24k interval is a reasonable interval. You can also use an air compressor to blow out the dust from the filter every 5-10k miles or at every oil change.
If you want to do things by the book, sounds like you may not be an experienced DIY type, I would stick to the same interval as the LX as they share the same 4.7L 2UZ motor. The cabin air filter interval should be the same across all the Toyota models. Easy as pie. Don't sweat it.
The only thing you have to sweat is to make sure you replace your timing belt between 100-120k miles or every 10 years to prevent catastrophic rendezvous of the valves and the piston(s) if the belt breaks from getting old, dry rotted and cracked.

Good luck!

What I’m doing is making a spread sheet with 6 vehicles on it. Having maintenance schedule for coolant, brake fluid, ATF, timing belt, serpentine belt, plugs, power steering, etc

It will be too much trouble looking through individual manuals and maintenance probably won’t get done without a simple spreadsheet with mileage or time intervals. .

Trying to make it simple for those living after I die.

I’ll just use the LX. Thanks for the insight.
