Hi guys i have a 2004 gx470 with nav, i wanted to install the diode dynamics smart turn flasher relay in the gx now i understand the factory relay is a 12pin while the one i ordered is standard Toyota/lexus 8pin relay Has anyone installed something like this in the gx

I just did this this past weekend with a tapturn relay. The relay is located below the steering wheel on the left side above the fuse panel. You'll need to buy a harness to adapt the 12 pin to 8 pin (Toyota part # 82241-35010) and you need to move pin 10 to the pin 11 location on the 12 pin connector or your hazards will not work. Also this will kill the DRL feature on your car. One other thing is when I installed it, the arrival and departure lighting feature killed the remote unlock of the key. I had to turn it off since whenever the arrival lights were on I couldn't unlock or lock the car with the remote.
