Default Convert 2005 GX 470 to Push-button Start?

I'd like to convert my 2005 GX to a push button start ignition. Has anyone done this and can share their experience, or point me to a product they would recommend?

I'd need to have someone professionally install it near me (Seattle) as well.

I converted my house to keyless systems, cars are next. Tired of carrying around/managing keys .

I found these 2 options:

http://www.advancedkeys.com/technology_features.htm

http://www.auto-innovatio.com/magent...nd-models.html

The second one seems more powerful, and the remote is smaller. I think I'm going to go that direction if I can get it installed at a reasonable price.

I know their is a chip in the Lexus key without which the car won't start. I would make sure any solution you consider provides a means to bypass this key transponder. If you do bypass this safety mechanism, you make your car much easier to steal!

It looks like the second option does allow you to keep the immobilizer, which is great. What I wonder about is how the interlocks would work, particularly the steering wheel lock, given that it is currently activated/deactivated mechanically via your turning of the key. You would probably need to disable it.

I looked at doing this a year or two ago and the only thing I could find at that time was the stardrive system at http://www.auto-hub.com
I really like the keyless systems after getting a new car for wife with it (she could'nt live with out it now), but not brave enough to be the first to put it in mine. The startdrive looks to have a system that could integrate to the complex Lexus electronics but yours might be an options too. Darn it, now you got me thinking about it again!!!........

Has anybody tried this, and how did you deal with the automatic telescoping steering wheel?

Would be nice if someone has done this. Although the "passkey" looks pretty poorly designed the system seems OK if you dont mind not having the steering locked. Not sure thats a deal breaker considering all Lexus's anti theft deterrent systems.

A remote starter is much different than 'push button ignition'. Push Button ignition on all equipped vehicles is completely integrated with the vehicle computer. Many things are integrated and controlled by the systems. It's doubtful you'll ever find an aftermarket system that is even close to an OEM system since the computer in your vehicle isn't equipped to control such a system.

Wow! I was browsing the net and found this Lexus forum - these posts are old (2013) yet still relevant (i.e., I believe there are still folks interested in doing this). Fast forward to 2022, there are now kits being sold on Amazon for push button start kits.

Has anyone successfully installed these on their Lexus GX470? See attached
