TPMS won’t reset

I get what you're saying, but these systems are a direct consequence of the Firestone tires they put on the Explorer back in the late 90's. Aside from the poor construction of the Firestone tires (I still think they're a 3rd tier tire maker), they were run at too low of a pressure and that caused heat build up which caused them to explode while being driven.

Checking your tire pressure was something every driver was taught to do when I was growing up. You always did your “pre check” walk around.
I realize Firestone’s issue was caught by the naked eye. But that’s because firestone made a faulty product and cost people there lives.
But we can’t add a protective system for every mishap that a company makes.
Just in the last decade cars and trucks have went up over 40%.
Some of that is “wants” by the customers... but most of it is EPA and dot regulations.
I feel an automaker should be able to get the fully loaded version with all these added features. But they should also be able to offer a stripped down version of a model for a low price.
But that’s no longer an option.
In in all honesty I’ve gone to far into this.... it’s a discussion to have over a few beers and maybe a camp fire.
I just dont don’t like to get to political online.
Just fix the leak in your spare tire. Problem solved.
