Default Rear video screen will not turn on automatically

Need some help with a new 05 GX 470 purchase. We experimented in an attempt to get the system to work. One note before I begin, I put a new battery in the remote and still doesn't seem not to work.

The system works great, but when I re-start the car the rear screen does not work.

It works, if I start the car, eject the dvd and put it back in. As the disc goes back in, the rear screen turns on. However, when I re-start the vehicle the rear screen will NOT turn on. Even on the dash screen, there is a "Rear View OFF" button, it does nothing when I press it. So I have to eject the disc and re-enter, which starts it from the beginning. But the screen does come on at that point.

Any help? (any way to test the remote to see if I need a new one?)

Do you have a factory installed rear entertainment system. If you do then the dvd player is in the back of console , The OEM system you need the remote to turn on the rear monitor .There is a power on button then ,move the cursor to play.

From what your saying I think yours is an aftermarket system. You may need to go to audio shop ++Hope this helps

Phildogbph It may be a good idea as well, to post a picture or two of the unit, that way members can identify unit and/or problem.
