Default TechStream software info wanted

I have seen some references to TechStream in misc. posts and became curious as to what it was. A search turned up little definitive info. Youtube videos told a little and were all Toyota based. Could someone please give some easily understood info about whether this is a tool that would be useful and what exactly to buy to get it set up?

Amazon Amazon

That's basically what you need (and a 32 bit operating system, or Windows XP mode). Mine shipped via the slow boat from China - I've been waiting for a month now.

On Ebay there is a user named alekslale. If you search techstream TIS on EbAY you will see his offering. $47.99. You can use this product with a 64 bit system. I had been using an older version on windows XP. I bought a laptop with windows 10 and it loaded perfectly. This one also has capability to update the TPMS. I highly recommend this product. It comes from Bulgaria so allow 8-10 days to get it.

I bought one off of ebay a while back, very important if you're going to DIY on a toyota/lexus. Installed it on a windows 7 64bit OS .. was a pain to get it working because it was supposed to be 32bit only. But I did get it to work.

Keep in mind this is knockoff software sold on the grey market. It'll work like the real thing but is likely to have some malware installed. I only use an old (broken screen) 'burner' laptop that isn't connected to the internet ever. It's my techstream laptop now. Wouldn't trust that software on a computer that I use to log in to accounts/purchase things online etc.

Can you use the TechStream software to program the key fob remote? Such as one button press to unlock all of the doors?

Most definitely. It does the 2 step procedure to program the new key. You have to have 1 master key. It will do the door locks and the immobilizer. You can do up to 5 keys before you have to delete them and reprogram them all.

Thanks Burny. I should have been more specific. Can you program the Lexus Personalized Settings with the TechStream software?

Yes, that's one of the primary reasons to aquire a "copy" of it.
Set your steering wheel retract, or beep volumn levels, or running lights on/off. It's all there.

I have been looking for techstream on ebay and am confused. Are they only offering the cable or does the software come with it?
I dug out an old XP Pentium 4 computer and am ready to go, but not sure what to buy. I looked for "alekslale" that was mentioned and could not find him. Any further clarification welcomed.

User Informatik2014 is selling an item "Mini VCI Diagnostic Tool Cable Scanner for Toyota Lexus TIS Techstream V10.30.29" which says that it comes with 1 CD/Software. One of the comments in the reviews says "Software is trial version but it works".
