Default Auto Tilting Side Mirrors

All,

I was just reading raybeck's post in the '04 GX thread, and saw him mention auto tilting side mirrors when in reverse. This was a surprise to me, as my GX had never done this, and I didn't know it could. I went out to my GX and fiddled with the mirror adjust switches and noticed that when the mirror select switch (left, center, right) is in the center position (where mine has been from day one), this auto tilt feature is disabled.

Perhaps this is documented in the manual; I haven't checked yet, though I did give it a pretty thorough reading the first night. Just thought I'd pass it along in case anyone else is in the same boat.

Thanks raybeck!

Tony

Hey! Thank you! It is weird because I was just out in my Lexus and noticed that my mirrors were not tilting when put in reverse, but now that I came in and just read your post I know why...the switch has been put in the center, so therefore, no tilt! I was pretty upset, until I read your post, so thank you. It is a nice feature and very useful, and I couldn't understand why it just quit after driving the GX for 2 months. I'll go adjust it right now!

same thing happened to me after 3 days of owning the new RX330. i thought i broke something!

what a neat little feature that it lets you control it yourself. i thought it might be one of those C-BEST things where the dealer would have to program it not to tilt, but it's nice that the driver can select whether or not to enable tilting!

I did the same thing with mine about a week after getting the truck. Thought it broke and was ready to unload on the dealer. Good thing I looked at the owners manual first.

To reset the time, push and hold the “MODE” button for 2
seconds. “ILL” will appear on the display. Then push the
“MODE” button once. The time will blink.
To reset the hour – Push the “ ” button.
To reset the minutes – Push the “ ” button.
To adjust the time to the nearest hour, push the “RESET”
button. For example, if the “RESET” button is depressed when
the time is between 1:01 – 1:29, the time will change to 1:00.
If the time is between 1:30 – 1:59, the time will change to 2:00.
If the electric power source has been disconnected, the time
display will automatically be set to 1:00.
