Hello,
I searched and could not find a DYI for brake fluid flush. I did come across one to bleed rear calipers where one can keep the pedal depressed, with key on, to "flush" both rear calipers one by one. However, nothing came up for front. Can someone help and point or post the procedure for the front and/or the entire brake system.

The fronts are same as normal brakes as far as bleeding, nothing fancy like the rears. I don't have a link to a DIY though, sorry.

 

first drain out brake fluid reservoir with turkey baster or something else and refill with clean fluid, then put the 10mm on rear passenger bleeder nut first then hook up your line to drain jug. have some one press pedal all way down and hold as you open the bleeder for a few seconds then retighten. have person release brake pedal and then to floor again and hold as you release bleeder screw. Do this until comes out clear. refill reservoir and do back driver side and then front passenger and then front driver. make sure reservoir stays full

 

Have to do a search, the rears have a power booster which requires some powere to it while flushing, just have to do the search, requires the ignition being turned on if I remember correctly.

 

yes i just start the truck up and leave it running during the procedure.

 

Thanks. So what I get is that for the rears, turn the ignition switch to on, press the pedal and open the bleeder to let it bleed till the clear fluid comes out. Start from passenger rear and move to the driver's rear.

Now for the fronts - are like "normal" bleeding: pump and press, unscrew bleeder and then tighten it before letting off the pedal, repeat the process till clear fluid comes out. Start the front after the rears and do the passenger front first. Move to the driver's side last.

Has anyone tried the "speed bleeders" for the front service - bleeders with check valve?

Of course, drain the reservoir and refill with clear fluid and make sure that the reservoir is always full with the above bleeding.

Do I capture this correctly? Please edit and correct.

I have two different kinds and they're both great for 1-man operation. Cuts time by not having to go back and forth as often. Just need to keep an eye on the reservoir from being empty..
