Default AC light flashing/blinking, air not cold

Last week while on the highway I noticed my AC was not blowing cold. It was set to the lowest temperature and at the lowest fan setting. The air had gone from cold to room temperature and the AC button light was flashing/blinking.

I pressed the button, it lit up solid and it started blowing cold again. Two minutes later the air went back to room temperature and the light was flashing again.

It worked fine for a few days and then it happened again Saturday. I noticed the air wasn't coming out cold and see that the AC button is blinking. I tap it solid and it starts blowing cold again only this time it stayed cold for the rest of the 20 minute drive.

What could be going on here?

I'm guessing the tapping thing was a coincidence that it started working. Most likely cause of this problem is a faulty AC clutch relay (PN 90987-02028). You should be able to get one from Autozone, but a genuine Toyota relay would be best. (This is the upgraded relay not the one currently in your truck,)

Here's a really good deal on the Toyota relay - much cheaper than from a dealer,

http://www.amazon.com/Toyota-90987-02028-Genuine-Relay/dp/B00FZS42YC http://www.amazon.com/Toyota-90987-02028-Genuine-Relay/dp/B00FZS42YC

You could try tapping on the relay to see if the magnetic clutch switches on and off when tapped. Relay is in the fuse box under the hood "MG CLT".

If your truck has fog lights, try putting the fog relay (FR FOG) in place of the clutch relay.

You should read this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...code-24-a.html

I fixed my A/C for $10 - bought the part on eBay after seeing the thread above.

Default Changed the magnetic clutch and still

Hello everybody
My name is Gilad own gx470 2008
i m new here.
I live in panama and diagnostics here are realy a challenge because there are no real good mecanics/electro. Not even the agancy wich anyhow is only for rich people.
so after 4 different ones who didnt fix it, i saw this forum and was thrilled to hear about this common problem and simple solution. Although, i bought the OEM DENSO relay, replaced it and still the problem didnt go.
The compressor turns on for 3 seconds brings cool air and then stop.
IS there any other option of resolving this problem?
Thank you so much.

Assuming the A/C mechanic shop recharged the refrigerant, and you have replaced the relay, those are the common things.

Did you run the diagnostics?
