Blowing hot air
My ac in my 99 sc3 is blowing hot air the compressor clutch is not turning. I did the self diagnosing it came up 00 indicating there is nothing wrong but obviously there is. The ac button light does not blink to indicate there’s a compressor problem. I give up any thoughts?
Have the R134a refrigerant level checked as well as the high side and low side pressure. If there is a blockage in the system it could be related to a bad/failing thermal expansion valve (available new from Denso's aftermarket sales through Densoproducts or Rockauto). Barring that it could be one of the pressure sensors designed to stop the compressor from running if there is a low refrigerant level detected. That sensor could have failed.
Also, just how old is your A/C compressor? There could possibly be issues with the magnetic clutch without triggering an A/C error code. If any failure issue is with your compressor clutch the cheapest option is to just buy a new compressor from Denso which comes with a brand new clutch.
By self diagnosing you mean you have run the ignition ON (no start) while holding down the A/C **** and Recirculate buttons in order to enter the A/C controller's diagnostic mode, correct?
