I have held off, for whatever reason, not upgrading my maps in my '06. I was fine without and knew where I was basically going. But now with all the road construction over the last couple of years I feel it is time to upgrade.

I know that they are typically released in the fall of year, but can anyone narrow it down to a month? At this point I would rather wait for the 2013 instead of buying the 2012.

Updated maps are usually released around November.

04-09 GX will always use DVD disc for maps.

 

Be sure to order the right generation, not all 2013 discs work

 

Yup, you need 2013 maps for whatever year your GX is, the navi systems changed within the 1st gen GX's.

I checked on every year last week and didn't see it, now I see they've put it beside all of the 2012 discs. Why would anyone want to buy a 2012 disc when they're the exact same price as the 2013 discs?

I cant figure that myself. They even give you a rebate if you return old disk. What can they do with it. Sell it used on ebay ??
