Just today, I was trying to adjust the drivers mirror it will only go side to side (left/right) it will not go UP or DOWN!!! Passenger mirror is fine. CRAP---anyone change out a motor mirror? Im guessing there are 2 motors in there?

One actuator, search the site for part number, it comes with instructions, ten minute job, mirror pops out and actuator is right there.

Cool

There is a TSB. Here it is attached. Hoping this helps. The detailed instruction mentions about the installation. You can do this with basic tools. If you are under warranty then get it done by the dealer, as this cover your GX truck year of production also.

That's the post, I have done both, the hardest part is getting your fingers in to disconnect plug. Have a child do it for you.

Alan it was easy you need to have somebody having a bright XENON torch lite and just try to push the tab downwards on the connector. ( A thin screwdiver would suffice) Patience and budweiserr, and you get the result.

I have the similar problem before. In my case, for some reasons, the mirror moved to its extreme position and got stuck. When you press the mirror control button, the mirror tried to move but stuck. You can hear the motor noise. If this case, you need to force (push hard) the mirror to the opposite direction. For example, if the mirror stuck up, then push the bottom side of the mirror until you hear a a few (gear) clicks. Then the mirror will start moving. Hopefully you were in the situation.
Good luck.

Just picked up an 07 and both mirrors are having this problem. I searched ebay but only found one for the passenger side. I looked online and found an aftermarket source for the entire mirror assembly including housing, glass and actuator - housing is primed ready for paint. The cost is only $70 each compared to the $150 for the factory actuator. My thought is to buy this cheap unit, remove the guts and put them in my already painted housings. Has anybody gone this route? I found them on USAutoparts.net.

Search for OEM actuators online @ discount Toyota parts web sites or Ebay.
Search using google by part number too. You'll get some good results.

I found my pass side actuator, brand new, OEM, on Ebay for $75. Took me 15 minutes to replace it. Mirror works like new.
