Default Ordered new driveshaft

So i have been feeling that "thump" or "bump" or whatever that darn feeling is after i come to a stop, and im sick of it. My 04 has never had the tsb done. So now that im out of warranty i will do it myself. I just order that shaft and will be posting the diy for anyone who would like to see it.

The control arms are not called for under the latest TSB.

Do you get an error message when you try to post the pics?

Usually, it will give you an error message if the file size is too large.

Default Driveshaft pics

Thanks antonio for the help.SO BASICALLY START WITH SOME LUBRICATION TO HELP AS THE FASTNERS ARE VERY TIGHT. THEN WITH TWO WRENCHES (YOU WILL NEED 2 14MM AND 1 17MM WRENCHES) BREAK THE BOLTS LOOSE. ONCE ALL FASTENERS ARE REMOVED YOU MAY NEED A TOUGH FLAT SCREW DRIVER OR PRYBAR TO SEPARATE THE SHAFT FROM THE OUTPUT AND INPUT SHAFTS(TRANSMISSION SIDE AND DIFFERENTIAL SIDE) THEN REINSTALL NEW SHAFT IN REVERSE ORDER. IF YOU HAVE A TORQUE WRENCH THE SPEC IS 65 FT LB OR 88 NM. TOOK ME 20 MINUTES IN AND OUT.(OF COURSE I DID HAVE A LIFT SO THAT HELPS A LITTLE)

So far all is good with the new part. New shaft cost 258.20, and I got a $150 credit towards the cost from Lexus as goodwill.
Time to replace the shaft was 35min on my back.

My thump had become so bad on stopping AND release of brake upon acceleration, it was awful. After replacement, all thumping is gone.

BTW - I had tried multiple grease tricks and attempts.

I am curious, how did you manage the $150 goodwill credit?

Probably a stupid question but what makes the original shaft faulty? Is there rubber components that wear? Or is it a case of the original warping? Just curious, I have on occasion felt the thump but not consistent enough to replace. Does it eventually get worse?
