Default Got my GX470 !!!

Hey Fellas, I'm a a newbie and I have to say I'm very happy to be here
I just got myself a GX470 finally, my first Lex and I'm really enjoying it.
I just dont' know why I didn't make the move sooner. Well That is God's plan for me.
I looked at Infinity, BMW and Acura. In the end, I went with the King the one and only- GX470 08 baby !!!! My wife just love the car as well. The car is fully loaded minus the rear entertainment center.

Coming from the dealer this week, some rock must to have richochet off the front bumper and gave me 2 nice scratches one time and bottom. One of the scratches litterally peel the paint off. Kind of like a piece of the metal that wants to come out.

Anyone knows what I can use to fix this myself. I know the dealer sells touch up paint and stuff. But I was wondering if there's a DIY for paint fix up that tells you how to sand and apply the paint and the clear coat.
Man I want my baby to look nice again. Please help fellas.

Thanks.

I am of no help for your paint problem, but I just wanted to say congrats on your GX purchase and welcome to the club!

Congratulations on the new GX! Take it back to the dealer and see if they'll fix it. What color did you get? I bet it's white!

Where are you in NJ? I am in Central NJ. Applying touch up paint is easy. I had to do it on my VW Passat. The factory touch-up paint came with instructions. It said to use a toothpick to apply the paint a drop at a time. Let the drop harden and apply a second drop if you have to. Follow the same procedure for the clear coat. One drop of paint followed by clear coat should do the job. You should be able to find step by step instructions online. PM-me if you need additional instructions.

Yep, Copped the Pearly White baby boy!!!

I had took the car back to the dealer but they say they would fix it for 400. I decline of course. They guy was real nice though and explain me how the rock hit the bumper in 2 places since he sees those things all the times. I went there in the first place to get a second key. I had no idea when your car pull up they look for scratches and mark them down on a sheet. Well I just have to fix it myself with the factory pain

Yo Mansito, sup fam.
I'm in Central Jersey as well man. thanks for the info. Going back to Lex to ge the touch up paint

rbx10,

Did you buy from Ray Catena? They have a whole fleet of white GX's. Which salesman did you deal with?

I am in Basking Ridge. If you need a body shop, I highly recommend ASG Body Art in Plainfield. They do very nice work at very reasonable price. Owner's name is Joe. Tell him that Guido (Burgundy Mercedes 300SE) sent you. Call me on 908-917-8070 if you have questions. Good luck
