Yepper. When I first bought the truck a couple years ago, I had the light come on and immediately figured out that it was because of the spare. INflated that and its never come on again. This time, it was the first one I checked.

then you must have a bad sensor inside one of the tires.

The light will come on with over-pressure as well.

But yes, if pressures on all five tires are correct (matches the door-jamb sticker) then the next most likely problem is a dead battery in one of the sensors. They normally last about 7-9 years.

Part cost at the dealer is $73, and an hour labor. Which typically brings you up to $200 or so. You can get it done cheaper at a tire shop -- just make sure they can program the computer to recognize it. Toyotas do not self-learn the TPMS IDs like other brands.

I run 35 in all my tires and have not had an issue.
