Default Slight drag when accelerating

Recently on my 07 with 19K miles I feel some drag for a second or so when I accelerate (changing lanes to pass on the highway). It almost feels as if I have the parking brake on. It takes a second or so before things feel normal again. It might just be my imagination too, not sure. Anyone else experience anything like this?

How hard are you accelerating? Like are you stomping on the gas pedal or easily easing up on the gas? I've notice that there is a little lag when i stomp on the gas pedal quick and hard.....

Hard accelerating. It's funny because it doesn't feel like a lag, but most like a drag (I feel resistance, like braking). Maybe the resistance is just the weight.

It would probably help if you put it in gear and then hit the gas.

That's exactly what I do. On the highway you can easily downshift to 3rd. This is generally quicker and smoother than slamming on the gas.

I notice a slightly longer hesitation in the summer, when the a/c is working hard. But mostly I think it's just a delay in the transmission deciding whether to downshift or stick with the high gear.

Hot weather will affect performance. A/C is working, alternator is working harder, and the mechanical fan puts more drag on the drive train.

Maybe you got a bad tank of gas.

I think it's the summer heat and the AC running. Just realized I notice this lag more in the past month or two.
