Default Headers for the 4.7L...

Has anyone put these on their GX. Looks to be good for -2005. I have 06, but just wanted to get feedback on them. I figure if it works for tundra it will work for the GX. Comments?

I haven't tried them but i have an '04. There are so many parts that are available for the tundra, sequoia, and 4 runner, and i've always wondered if they'll fit our car. I've always wanted to be a k&n cold air intake that was make for the 4 runner and put on my gx but its 400 bucks and i don't want to buy it and it not fit.

Tundra headers don't fit the V8 4Runner or GX, space issues, the 4.7 is confined to a smaller space then the Tundra

Before I would even get to headers I would modify the rest of the exhaust, as you would need to anyway with headers to get more of a gain. That means direct flow muffler, y-pipe (not necessarily one muffler on each side) could be like mine on my RX300, high flow cat (it should be a slightly larger cat than is normally used) although this is tough in many jurisdictions in the U.S. and englarging piping before the cat. Headers, in my opinion, are last on the list for exhaust. However, exhaust should come before any intake in terms of where you throw your money for power.

Actually the headers from a Tundra will fit provided they are modified for the oil dipstick which is on the opposite side and the downpipe which is at a different angle.
I plan on installing them very shortly on the GX as this motors really do wake up to headers. They worked wonders on my Tundra and very solid dyno proven numbers on the SC430 with only a cat back blitz exhaust.
CAI are a nice improvement as well.

Where did you get the price of $400 for a K&N CAI? they sell for considerably less than that. I paid around $230 to my door new. Check my sig.
