Does a GX with the KDSS suspension bottom out in the rear as easy as a non sport GX? Thinking of getting a new one, but if it bottoms out like mine does now, I think that I will pass, or at least wait another year forl the new GX. Thanks, Skip

Skip.....
My '04 GX bottomed-out after a Clunk Fix, but took it back and dealer replaced more parts to eliminate the botomming-out.
Mine has bottomed out when going over dips since it was new. New rear shocks installed by dealer did not help. Hits bump stops way too easy. I am wondering if the kdss suspension has more travel before it his the bump stops. Skip

KDSS increases suspension travel ONLY while off-roading, under certain mph (i think 18 mph). On-road, the suspension is actually firmer due to the larger/thicker anti-roll bars. So, it may solve your issue of bottoming out due to the firmer ride, but you just need to testdrive one to make sure.
Yes, I have whined incessantly about the rear bottoming-out too.
I'm hemming and hawing in regards to swapping out the XREAS and going with:
1) OME Light duty 1-2" lift coils/shocks-struts
2) Bilstein HD with H&R springs 1.5" lift
Worried about resale, ride (wife, mother-in-law), fitting into SF parking garages.
BTW, we restored an old cattle track up the knoll of one the hills on the family ranch. Almost a half-mile of climbing a 20-30% gradient over mowed brush and crushed granite. GX made it with no problems, though my heart was racing the whole way. First time I have ever had to take deep breaths before starting-out, as stopping or reversing would be a very bad thing.
Thanks to the discussion we had about the ATRAC, I kept it in L1, locked, and between 3-5K RPMS on all the steep stuff-so no computer antics. Thank you Thai.
bgsntth, no problem. Did you hear ATRAC kicking in along the way?? It would have been cool to stand outside and watch ATRAC kick in during your way up.
With the engine screaming and the tires crunching mowed foliage, I could not really discern the ATRAC pinging/knocking; but the tires were definetly spinning at all points of the climb. http://new.photos.yahoo.com/martinde...803356699705/7
If you look at the bare peak at the farthest North West in the picture-that is the top of the climb. You literally go straight up the knoll instead of along the switchbacks. My GX is actually that little silver spec in the middle of the picture.
